Biography: Robert H. Gardner


A lifelong photographer, Bob enjoys using natural light in his photography including color, black & white, landscape, street photography, contemporary and abstract, which are reproduced on archival art paper, treated canvas, metal, and acrylic. He has photographed around the world including the United States, Cuba, Canadian Rockies, Europe, the Middle East, Russia, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Australia, and New Zealand. His work was selected for several solo exhibitions including the University of Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Ophthalmology in San Antonio, as a photographic accompaniment to the “Grand Canyon Suite” performed by the Mid-Texas Symphony, and the new addition to the Guadalupe Regional Medical Center in Seguin, Texas.

A former resident of New Jersey and Seguin, Bob and his family currently live in Tomball. He is a former member of the Seguin, New Braunfels and Wimberley Art Leagues, a current member of the Tomball Art League, the Lone Star Art Guild, and the International Society of Experimental Artists. He has been vetted by the Thomas Kinkade Company, Agora Gallery, NYC, New York  Galleria Gaudi, Madrid Spain, and Kolner Liste, Cologne, Germany.

He has received the “Exemplary Art Achievement Award” from Lone Star Art Guild. His works have been exhibited and received numerous top honors as well as Best in Show Awards including the Seguin Guild Gallery Grand Opening; several annual art shows in Wimberley; the Seguin Heritage Museum “Photography around the World” and “Visions in Wood “exhibit; the San Antonio Visual Artists (SAVA) “Collaboration” and “Eye of the Beholder” exhibit at the River Center Mall San Antonio; and the Tomball Art League Fall and Spring Exhibits.

Bob is often a guest artist at “Art on 12 Gallery” in Wimberley, Texas, as well as a guest lecturer in “Artistic Photography” for several local art groups and the Adult Lifelong Learning Program at the Lone Star College-University Park, Tomball, TX. Bob also serves on the Visual & Performing Art’s Building Committee for the Lone Star University Park Campus and currently assisting in the design and implementation of glass-enclosed Art Wall at the Harris County Public Library located at the Tomball campus of the Lone Star College.

His photographs have been published in national and trade magazines, and is on Permanent Exhibit at the Houston Consulate of Vietnam, Houston Bicycle Museum, Seguin Heritage Museum, the Guadalupe Regional Medical Center in Seguin, in private galleries in Washington, DC; Los Angeles, Palo Alto CA; Brooklyn, NY;  Wales UK; and Saigon, Bangkok, Thailand. Recently, his photographic documentation for Prevention of Human Trafficking was published by the  Child Protection and Development Center and the Population and Community Development Association of Thailand.

His published works include “Postcards,” “Kitchen Art,” “Faces of the Far East” and “Natural Light Photography.” A new collection of his works will be published in late 2019.
